What Type of Maintenance Does My Vehicle Need?

There are a multitude of maintenance tasks that vehicles require. Every vehicle differs and there are lots of factors that affect the maintenance each vehicle needs and when they need it. Here are some common service tasks your car will need from time to time:

  • Engine oil change
  • Filter replacement
  • Tire rotation
  • Fluid replenishment (coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, etc.)
  • Multi-point inspection

How Often Do I Need an Oil Change?

As we mentioned, there are lots of factors that affect how often you need auto service. The amount of time you should wait between oil changes depends on your vehicle, its mileage, your driving conditions, and even the type of oil you use.

On average, we recommended changing your engine oil every 3,000 to 6,000 miles. However, you can go up to 15,000 miles between oil changes when you utilize synthetic oil.

What are OEM Parts?

Original Equipment Manufacturer parts, also known as OEM parts, are parts that are produced by the same manufacturers that built your new Dodge SUV. These are the best parts you can use when you need an auto part replacement. By using genuine Dodge parts, you can be confident that the parts will fit and work seamlessly within your car.

Do I Have to Use OEM Parts?

When you are looking for replacement auto parts, you’ll likely see more affordable aftermarket parts. However, these cheaper parts are typically made more cheaply. So, if you want quality parts that are sure to last mile after mile, you’ll want OEM parts.

OEM parts also include warranty coverage, while most aftermarket parts don’t. Keep in mind, replacing your auto parts with a lower quality replacement can affect your vehicle’s warranty too.
