5 Tips to Keep Your A/C Running

1. Turn on your A/C for 10 minutes: Once a week, our specialists recommend running your air conditioner for approximately 10 minutes. By doing this, you help your compressor work properly by maintaining gas pressure. To get the maximum benefit, make sure your A/C is on the coldest setting and the highest fan speed.
2. Run Defrost Mode: About once a week or so, our service team suggests turning your air conditioner to Defrost Mode. Defrosting helps to prevent mildew in your vehicle by clearing out any excess moisture in your A/C system.
3. Use Your A/C in the Winter: Though it seems counterintuitive, running your A/C in winter is great for your car. Your air conditioner cools down your cabin, but it also removes humidity from the air. In the winter, you’ll have the heater running which will fog up your windshield; turning on your air conditioner dissipates that fog so you can see.
4. Charge Your A/C System: By this, we mean that you need to replace the lubricant and gas in your cooling system. To be safe, try and do this every two years to keep your A/C running.
