Fall is in the air. After the sweltering days of summer, the warm colors and cool days of fall are often a welcome sight. It’s also an opportune time for Jeep® service at Prestige Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM.

Inspect Your Windshield Wiper Blades

Excessive heat and sun can damage the integrity of your windshield wipers. In fact, some will even crack under the hot summer sun. Now is a good time to inspect your blades to see if they can adequately clear your windshield on a rainy day. Make sure you also top off your windshield wiper fluid.

Check Your Tire Tread

While you can never really predict when (or if) we’ll see inclement weather in Las Vegas, it’s still important to be prepared. Adequate traction is crucial on wet or slick terrain. The minimum legal tire tread depth is 2/32 of an inch. However, many experts recommend replacing your tires at anything less than 4/32 of an inch for your safety.

Test Your Battery

Extreme temperatures can also drastically drain your car’s battery. After our hot summers, you want to ensure that your battery is still functioning optimally. Don’t forget to also clean the battery terminals now too. Buildup can make starting even more of a challenge, especially as the weather cools.

Change Your Oil

Have you exceeded the mileage recommendation for your next oil change? Let the changing seasons always be your reminder to schedule that oil change. Oil can become compromised over time, leaving it unable to properly lubricate your engine parts. This can lead to excessive heat and friction, resulting in serious damage and possibly complete engine failure.
